Ah the joys of fifties cooking, before we knew about cholesterol and anti-oxidants and all those other things that take the fun out of eating the foods we love.

Wouldn't you love to sit down at your vintage chrome and formica dinette set and eat a nice greasy burger and some fries or have some bacon and eggs without worrying about how bad they are for you? Or maybe your tastes are more refined? How about a nice plate of cold sliced tongue with tomato aspic for luncheon?

Actually some of the cakes sound pretty good, if a bit egg & butter-heavy.
